The Winner: Herbalife vs. iPhone Part 3

I guess from the title alone (and from my previous post, if you read it carefully), it's obvious which one won... the iPhone! Yipee!!

I actually got my iPhone yesterday. I was in line for almost 30 minutes, and this line is just for the queue number only! After getting the queue number, we still waited for more than an hour before my number was called.

Since we were told that it might take an hour or so before my number will be called, we walked around the mall first. Since Lloyd had a heavy afternoon snack and was still too full to eat dinner and I'm not that hungry myself, I just had three pieces of takokaki balls from Tako Pochi and iced lemonade from Auntie Anne's for dinner.... hihihihi!

We waited for at least two hours, our legs hurting (from all the standing) and our backsides aching (from all the sitting), but it was all worth it.... :)

Herbalife will have to wait a month or two... :(

I Love Eating: Herbalife vs. iPhone Part 2

I admit, I looove eating. The worst thing is I love the dessert more than the main course! Like on our last vacation in Manila, all I can think of is where and what to eat…. Krispy Kreme, Cupcakes by Sonja, Crepes & Creams! And all those food are just in one place! What more if I add the others on my list like Café Breton? Gosh…

When we were in Manila, I was able to buy and eat (and even bring back to Singapore) some doughnuts from Krispy Kreme that we bought from their branch in Mall of Asia. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to eat at Cupcakes, not even a bite! To think that it was on top of my list. But due to time constraint we were not able to go there, not even to walk around Bonifacio High Street. Same with Crepes and Creams, I was supposed to have a date there with my friend Eden but we changed venue. Oh! don’t forget Café Breton… we went there twice!

Now you won’t be wondering why I want to go on a diet. Other than going to the gym, I want to try other means of losing weight. That’s why I’m reading through various reviews on diet pills. Like last night I was reading about Phentermine Online. Of course I won’t just take or drink those things without researching them first! I'm not that desperate yet.

Honestly speaking I'm not really fat, but I’m also not really thin. Based on some of the articles I’ve read, I still have the correct weight. But I’m not satisfied…

Why does losing weight have to be this hard?!

Herbalife vs. iPhone

I know, I know... there's no connection whatsoever with the two. I'm just contemplating which one to prioritize: to get the new iPhone 3G or to buy Herbalife's starter pack?

iPhone

I told myself a long long time ago that once an iPod phone comes out, I'd get one. I never bought an iPod for myself, although I have an iPod nano which was given to me by my sister (yes... my sister... my YOUNGER sister...). I never bought one because I'd rather have those all-in-one thingies. The past two mobile phones I bought can play music. The first one's a Nokia 6230i, and the second one's a Sony Ericsson W710i which is a walkman phone.

Good thing I'm a SingTel user, so no need to switch to a new number hihihi! For the mobile plan I'm using, the iPhone will cost around SGD 698 for the 8GB and SGD 848 for the 16GB.

Herbalife

I'm trying to lose weight, OK! I'm not really on a strict diet... but I don't eat rice during dinner and I've avoided drinking soft drinks and eating too much sweets.

Despite going to the gym three times a week, I'm not losing weight! Waaaaaa! I have friends who took Herbalife and it really worked for them. They really lost a lot of weight. And I want to lose a lot of my extra-extra weight!!!

Herbalife's Basic QuickStart Program costs SGD 194.15. But my friend who's in the US told me that hers only costs USD 85.80, which is around SGD 120. NOT FAIR!!!

The Verdict

Lloyd will probably not let me buy Herbalife (I can still convince him though hihihi), and I already prepped and psyched him to let me buy the iPhone. So... we'll see... until my next post!

Hannah's Thanksgiving and First Birthday Party

Our very short vacation in Manila was the best timing ever. We were able to attend Hannah's birthday party. It was a blast! And it was a blessed day.

Families and friends were present to join Hannah on that special day. It rained a bit, but it never ruined the party. Former co-workers from our previous employer in the Philippines were also present. I was finally able to meet a fellow N@Wie Jacque who did the balloon decors for Hannah's birthday. I also met Jane, Jacque's sister-in-law, who did the wonderful pink & purple cupcakes and the 2-layer fondant cake for Hannah (thanks Jane!).

The best part of the day was when Hannah finally came out of the four corners of her bedroom! Yes! She went out! She was wearing this cute little red dress, and her hair's all made up. She looks so surprised because there were so many people looking at here, smiling at here. Joan and Carlo also looked very happy.

Before the party started, Carlo said a short prayer. He shared to all of us a short version of their experiences since Hannah was born. He asked God to give them, Hannah's parents, a chance to take care of her. I was crying the whole time Carlo was saying the prayer... sorry I'm a real crybaby...

Pictures from Hannah's thanksgiving and birthday party are posted in Hannah's Multiply site. Hannah's parents wrote a short message to everyone who made the event come true. After the short message, Carlo wrote a story about his reflection since Hannah came into their lives. Just thinking about it makes me cry...

I am amazed at Joan & Carlo's courage and strength. I emailed them immediately after reading it. They've surpassed all the hardships and trials for a year, and they will surpass the following years to come. I know they will not lose the faith and courage they have now because there are a lot of people who are here to support them, love them, help them and pray for them.

Hannah really is a blessing from God. I admit, I don't pray everyday, and I seldom (as in once every two or even three months) go to church. But whenever I think of Hannah, I'd always say a short prayer for her and her parents.

Here is a part of Carlo's reflection: Maybe I was wrong in thinking that Hannah badly needs to be healed. Hannah will be the one to bring healing to us all. Maybe not healing of the physical nature. But more importantly, healing of our spirits...of our souls...of our relationship with God.

My First eBay Listing

I have some things my mom bought from the US and I want to sell it. I recently registered to eBay (Singapore) and i just finished posting (or listing) an item! Yipee!!!

Big deal, huh? hihihi! Well, it's my first time, so give me a break!

Anyway, if you guys want to check it out, here's my eBay.

I think I won't sell the other items I have here now. I want to see first if someone will buy my first listing. Wish me luck!!

Still not finished...

I'm still not finished updating my blog! Everytime I'd stop and look at it, I'd find something to add!

Like right now, I'm adding the blogs of my fellow N@Wies. I've added those with links added to our Yahoo!Groups' Link. But some members never put their links there! So now I'm searching for old emails where they forwarded their links.

P.S.
Isn't it obvious I'm not that busy? hihihi!

Blog Site Overhaul.... Again!

Sorry guys... I'm going to change my layout again. I'm looking for a 3-column layout/template to use. So please bear with me if you suddenly notice the site's layout changing or some items missing. :)

Please Help Buy and/or Sell Hannah's Rosaries

If you remember my previous posts about baby Hannah, she still needs our help. She's at home now, and they're just renting a ventilator/respirator that she uses whenever she sleeps.

Hannah's parents would like to be able to buy her own respirator someday. They're selling rosary bracelets which Joan, Hannah's mom, made herself. The rosaries are very very beautiful and you can request to have the size customized (and maybe the color/design as well, of course you need to ask Joan if it's possible). I hope we can help baby Hannah again by buying her rosaries. http://hannahysabelle.multiply.com/photos/album/20/rosaries_for_hannah

If you look at her pictures you'll see that she's a bundle of joy and so pure of happiness! Just looking at her pictures makes me & Lloyd smile. If you won't notice her tracheostomy tube, you'll think that she's not sick at all.

By the way, Hannah will be turning 1 very soon! And here is a letter from Hannah's parents (taken from Hannah's multiply site):

Dear Friends,

July 31, 2008

Thank you so very much for helping us through all the powerful prayers you offered and all the financial support you've shared for our baby Hannah Ysabelle. It is a miracle how much strength she has drawn from your tremendous kindness, compassion, and generosity.

Through the help of families and friends, we were able to discharge her last May 17 from the hospital and transition her to home care. At long last (after almost 9 months), Hannah was finally home! Truly a dream come true for all of us. You can tell by how much Hannah's face lights up every single day in her room that she has found greater happiness at home. And we have God, through all of you, to thank for blessing our daughter with this overflowing happiness.

Hannah is now nearing her 1st birthday and is truly a bundle ball of joy. The impact that she has on both our hearts is simply overwhelming. We never knew how much love Joan and I could feel before God blessed us with Hannah. Thank you Lord for loving us so much!

It's still a long journey ahead for us. We will have our ups and downs, as all others do. But Joan and I could not ask for more. We have Hannah. We have our family. And we have you. All other things become pale in comparison. We will never be shaken in our faith. We will continue to fight the good fight for Hannah. Keeping in our hearts and minds the selfless love you all have shared to a family, who most of you, have never even met.

Again, we can never thank all of you enough for all your help. We hope that we too can be great Samaritans as you were to us. May the Good Lord reward your generosity a hundred-thousand-million fold!

You will always be in our prayers. God bless you and your families always!

Sincerely,
Carlo and Joan

Please pass this to your family and friends.
Thanks & God bless!
